Our Mission

The staff at Guardian Animal Aftercare recognizes the unconditional love and loyalty our pets share with us. We hold that bond as a sacred trust.

Our mission is to provide compassionate and dignified aftercare services that will enable your family to work through their bereavement and to better heal. Our commitment allows an everlasting memorial to all companion animals and their families.

It is also our mission to improve the environment we live in by eliminating the use of landfills and rendering plants as alternatives to cremations.

Our Story

GAA was founded in 2001 by Dr. Audra Sykes MacCorkle, a veterinarian who specializes in holistic medicine and has been serving the Los Angeles and surrounding areas for the past 8 years. Dr. MacCorkle through her experiences recognized the need for a higher level of service, quality and compassionate aftercare for the loss of a loved pet.

GAA provides dignified cremation for all animals and grief support for families throughout this emotionally difficult time. Veterinarians Without Borders, a sister company to GAA is a nonprofit foundation which supplies funding for a variety of projects that provide veterinary services for those with a significant financial need. A portion of the proceeds from each GAA cremation will be donated to Veterinarians Without Borders.

We are very proud of our dedicated and professional staff who are trained to assist you in making the proper arrangements for your beloved pet. It is our intention that you view your experience with us as an essential component of your healing process.
